Business model and implementation
This program will parallely proceed with LEGO Replay and LEGO Spark. Through the years, we focused on developing the service and gaining initial few schools for distribution. Through this paced process, we aim to validate the concept and expand to more regions in the future years.
Income will be received through packages and subscription services.

We targeted the scope of the project to Netherlands, mostly because the start of testing and implementation from a smaller region can validate the concept.
Moreover, throughout the process of designing strategically for LEGO, we consulted an expert in the field of educational innovation within primary schools in the Netherlands. This person stressed how different educational policies are within the EU and that the development of our idea would already take 5 years in the Netherlands alone.
Product service system, vision and purpose, value to stakeholders
We decided to make use of one of LEGO’s existing programs to reuse the blocks through LEGO Replay. The program is used for the general public to make donations to the center.
LEGO Spark is a program schools can subscribe to for enriching students’ education through play. An app is developed that aids kids to develop skills like storytelling, collaboration and communication.
LEGO Spark is a Product- Service system that establishes a relationship with elementary schools to develop creativity thinking and sparking creativity for kids aged 4-6 years old.

Problem exploration and definition

We chose to create a new product/service for the company LEGO. A company thus far excelled in creating experiences around construction toys for adults and children.
For an advanced company like LEGO, a new innovation from an outsider perspective does not come easy. To find a gap that can be filled by a new product/service, we decided to conduct a trend research but also find the scope of the company by analyzing their annual reports. I was responsible for analyzing the company's annual reports and deriving insights.

Brainstorming
Ideating for a new product/service that is not already done by LEGO was difficult. Extremely out of the box ideas to rational sane ideas were hatched out, combined, altered and grouped to form meaningful buckets.
At the end of brainstorming, we picked out few top ideas and made sure to see if they aligned with our vision. Although the problem statement was iterated multiple times depending on insights found along the way.
